Guidelines

  1. Prose and verse submissions should be a .docx file (Google Docs included) without any identifying information, such as your name, email, or address. I.e., only include your name on the Google Form. Art submissions should be uploaded in the most appropriate image file format. If art submissions are larger than 100mb, please reach out to our email.

  2. When formatting your piece, please use Times New Roman or a similarly legible serif typeface. 

  3. Fiction and non-fiction submissions are limited to one submission per person and should be no more than 2500 words. 

  4. Please submit no more than five poems and five art pieces in the medium of your choice. 

  5. Please fill out the form again for each new submission. 

  6. If your submission is accepted for publication, we will contact you by email. If your submission is not accepted, we will likewise notify you by email. Do not inquire about your submission status until at least one month has passed since the submission call closed. 

Scrivener Creative Review does not accept work that has been previously published. Submitters warrant that they are the creators of the entry they submit and own the rights to it. Scrivener Creative Review reserves the right to publish all submitted work. All personal information provided by the submitter shall be used solely for the administration of Scrivener Creative Review (“SCR” or “Scrivener”). By providing such information, the submitter consents to its use for such purposes.

Do I have to be a McGill student to submit?

No, you do not. Nor do you have to be Canadian.

Does Scrivener pay its contributors?

Given our current funding, we unfortunately cannot pay our contributors.
